“ Great Food period!!! Great Service and Best value. For starters ordered onion soup that was dynamite. I had the regular portion prime rib mediium rare. I also ordered the baked sweet potato and side salad with Dijon mustard salad dressing. Again the prime rib was delicious cooked to perfection. I had a mixture of horseradish cream and raw. I also had a local chocolate cake that was great!!! Come check it out!!! Ask for Melanie she is a Drew Barrymore look alike. Most forgot the drinks Blackberry margarita and dark mojito. ”
“ Nice steak place! Very good steak and service. Our filets were cooked to perfection and saw the manager come by and ask if everything tasted ok. The house salad is pretty plain and I asked for cracked pepper and they didn't have any which I thought was odd. Wishing the ambiance was a bit nicer here but it's more casual dining. The French onion soup is really good and they give you little scissors to cut the cheese. Overall a good place to have a nice steak dinner! ”
“ We stopped in later in the evening and were pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful meal with great service. The Monterey Steak Tips were done beautifully and plated in an attractive manner. Definitely recommend Kelsey's if you're in the area. ”
“ The steaks are always on point and the baked potatoes are light fluffy and fresh, no comparison. If you are a chocolate lover you must have the chocolate cow it is absolutely amazing, very rich and decadent in flavor, reminded me of a hostess ho ho on steroids. Our server was being ran like a dog but was awesome and we enjoyed his smile and friendly hospitality ”
“ Went to a football game @ Notre Dame and didn't feel like driving home, so I grabbed a hotel room in Valparaiso, IN. Decided to stop at dinner at Kelsey's. Had never been there before but the parking lot was crowded and there was a huge cow statue outside so I figured it was a good place. I was right. Ordered a sangria, French onion soup, and the lake perch dinner with garlic mashed potatoes. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Food was great and priced right. Portions were a good size. Ana was a very attentive server. Highly recommend this place. ”
“ I go for the prime rib and it doesn't disappoint. Consistently good. I do wish that the side options included more non carb options that weren't steamed veggies that have no seasoning. I get the Kelsey's garlic butter for the veggies - but I do hate having to pay extra just because the veggies have practically NO seasoning whatsoever. Ambiance is fine but not great. I would love to see the lights dimmed throughout the whole place to give it more of a "steakhouse" feel. When I go out for a "steak date night" I want it to feel more luxurious than it does with bright lighting. Service is always great sitting at the bar. ”
“ Hospitality was amazing. Also can't remember the last time I've had a prime rib that flavorful. Definitely recommend coming here and also asking for Rudy as a server. He was 10/10 attentive and not intrusive one bit! ”
“ My wife and I spent several days in Valparaiso to both visit her sister and introduce me to the town where both of them went to college. I had always wanted to go there and am very happy to say that I totally enjoyed the visit. While there, we visited a lot of places and ate most meals out. Kelsey's Steak House was one of them. This was a pretty nice place. The dining rooms are large and roomy. We were seated at a table in a back room near the door to the outside dining area. Our server, Tyler, was very helpful and attentive. He had immediate answers to all of our menu questions. I ordered seafood bisque, sea bass with a crab topping, and a loaded baked potato. For dessert, I ordered the white chocolate covered white cake shaped like a cow. I don't remember what they called it. The seafood bisque was delicious. It had a lot of seafood chunks in it, although I couldn't tell you what they were. The flavor was rich with a hint of butter. The sea bass was a huge nicely cooked chunk. It was the biggest portion of sea bass I have ever been served. I liked the crab topping which was actually on the bottom. It had a strong crabby taste, but only small chunks of crab. The baked potato was my first loaded baked potato in a long while. I thought it was wonderful. The bacon on it was really smoky and piggy tasting. My wife had prime rib- the main reason for our coming to this venue. She really enjoyed it. Her soup choice was french onion, which she said was really good. It was served with little blue scissors to cut the cheese, which, of course, prompted me to say, "I guess we'll know who cuts the cheese!" The cake was amazing. I can't believe I didn't take a picture. It was shaped like a cow resting on its side. Mine was encased in a white chocolate shell. My wife's was in regular chocolate. Neither of us could eat the whole thing and ended up bringing a lot home. The white cake was so moist and delicious that the white shell was almost overkill. But, it didn't kill me, and I ate every bit. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. I don't remember any music. I was too busy watching the servers hustle and bustle around the place. I would definitely come back. The prices were on par with most San Antonio restaurants. There were some more expensive items on the menu, but I think you could get out of there for about $40 a person, if you went light on the cocktails (we didn't) and split a dessert. That cow cake was enough for 4 to share! ”
“ I'm here to celebrate my birthday! I love this local family owned restaurant! I prefer family owned over chain restaurants any day! We were seated and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming! It's cold here today so everything is just cozy and warm. Melanie was our server. She is the epitome of service excellence. Her knowledge, demeanor, and professionalism was outstanding! She looks like Drew Barrymore's twin and seriously made our dining experience fantastic! I ordered the ribeye, medium well, with Kelsey butter (a phenomenal Irish garlic butter). The French Onion soup, salad and veggies were awesome. I topped it off with two glass of Simi Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma wine. Yum!!!! For dessert, I had a slice of eggnog cheesecake to go. The plate read Happy Birthday and had a candle. Very cool! I love everything about this restaurant! It's a must go. When you come, ask for Melanie. She will hook you up! ”
